Australian Steel Institute awards Orrcon Steel for safety

 

 

Orrcon Steel Warehouse and Logistics Manager Glenn Todd has won the 2017 Logistics Safety Code Award at the 2017 Australian Steel Institute (ASI) Health and Safety Excellence Awards.

Glenn Todd was a recipient of the Logistics Safety Code Award due to his leadership in safety and his ability to improve site processes across the entire steel, transport and logistics Industry.

Glenn has been working for Orrcon Steel for 15-years and started as a Logistics Supervisor, before working his way up the ranks to become a Logistics and Warehouse Manager.

AFL fans will ride a wave of emotion this September with the final eight teams booking their spot into the 2017 AFL Finals Series.

The MCG is often referred to as the spiritual home of sport in Australia and AFL Grand Final Day is one of the biggest days on the sporting calendar.

This modern-day colosseum has hosted some of the most epic grand finals and over the years’ millions of spectators have witnessed some of the most memorable goals at the ‘G.’

For Orrcon Steel, our most memorable goal came prior to the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.  

Bluescope announces Mark Vassella as new CEO to succeed retiring Paul O’Malley

BlueScope today announced Mark Vassella as its new Managing Director & CEO from 1 January 2018, after Paul O’Malley announced his retirement effective 31 December 2017.

Mr Vassella joined BlueScope in 2007, and is currently Chief Executive BlueScope Australia and New Zealand. He started in the steel industry as a cadet at BHP Newcastle in NSW, in the early 80s, and has worked through the ranks, in a range of general management and leadership roles in Australia, the UK and the US.

Winner of the Tonne of Power

Congratulations to our 2017 V8 Ford Mustang winner Pedders Shock Absorber Service of Noble Park, Victoria. Special guests Mark Winterbottom and Bluescope CEO Mark Vassella presented the keys to Pedders Shock Absorber Managing Director Mark Pedder at Bayford.

Our Tonne of Power promotion had been running from February 1st to June 30 this year and in the end Pedders Shock Absorber Service were worthy winners.

Cannon Trailers Manager, Rod Cannon is well aware that his family’s company can’t take undue chances with their products as it has been solely dedicated to manufacturing cattle trailers over many years.
